Athavan’s passion for energy conscious building design has driven his efforts to become an industry expert in sustainable design. Athavan has taken his passion to a higher level within the DWL office by focusing on net-zero building design and currently leads the AIA 2030 commitment for energy conservation within the office. He continues his efforts to guide the firm and our clients’ projects towards implementing economically viable measures through data-driven sustainable design. He has volunteered and taught sustainability and LEED at Arizona State University’s Del E. Webb School of Construction as an industry expert. He served as a board member of the Arizona Chapter of the US Green Building Council and has been a volunteer of the organization for several years.
