TUCSON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WEST TERMINAL OPTIMIZATION PROGRAM
This was the largest of several construction projects encompassed under the airport’s ‘A Brighter TUS’ improvements. Comprised of three main categories: the relocation of security screening checkpoints at all concourses, concessions, as well as modifications and upgrades to the airport infrastructure, the goal for this multi-phase terminal renovation project is to increase airport revenue, improve passenger processing, enhance customer service and optimize the use of the space.
INSPIRED DESIGN:
DWL’s design solution created inspiring spaces within a space-constrained 1960’s building. By paying special attention to the passenger’s state of mind during their journey and understanding the checkpoint as being one of the most stressful points along the way, we developed a functional and efficient solution that also elevates comfort levels with natural daylight, views, intuitive wayfinding and simple aesthetics.

THOUGHTFUL STEWARDSHIP:
The priority of the project was to optimize the existing facility, being accountable to the airport and community with their budget, time and available space. The project met its design goals as well as being completed on time and under budget.
CREATIVE TEAMWORK:
DWL values the trust TUS has in our team. We continue to earn our client’s trust by listening, collaborating, implementing, and creatively working as a team with multiple airport stakeholders.

ENDURING COMMITMENT:
Arizona’s airport system is key to the health of the state and local community. DWL applies our enduring commitment to each and every project.
