Goodyear Fire Station #182

Project Details

As part of a three-station initiative, Fire Station #182 is the second renovation completed by DWL. The 12,300 SF renovation was designed to improve firefighter health, safety and readiness within the constraints of an existing, active station. Working within a fixed footprint, the project addresses one of today’s most important fire station design priorities: reducing exposure to carcinogens and other post-incident contaminants without disrupting daily operations. The design uses a clearly defined hot, warm and cold zoning strategy to separate contaminated and clean areas throughout the station.

Organized around the rhythms of daytime activity, nighttime recovery and continuous decontamination, the renovated station supports operational efficiency while protecting rest, recovery and long-term health. The result is a safer, healthier environment that helps firefighters remain ready to respond.
