Detroit Metropolitan Airport (DTW) Warren Cleage Evans Terminal Ticketing Hall Expansion Study
Project Details
The DTW Ticketing Hall Expansion project evaluated three development options, ranging from a modest renovation to a full structural expansion. Each option focused on transforming the ticketing hall into a more welcoming, spacious and intuitive environment for departing passengers. The existing configuration created a narrow zone between the curbside drop-off area and the airline queuing stanchions, forcing passengers and their baggage into tight maneuvering spaces. These pinch points contributed to an experience that felt outdated, uninviting and, at times, unsafe. Additionally, the TSA checkpoint areas required upgrades and expansion to accommodate increased passenger volumes.
