Project Details

Inbound Baggage Handling System (BHS) 1, 6 + 7
DWL developed performance specifications for the replacement of aging Inbound BHS Carousels. In addition to coordinating with the BHS consultant, DWL prepared construction and phasing layout documentation to define limits of work and assisted with construction administration activities.

Federal Inspections Service (FIS) Area Expansion Study
The existing FIS facility was designed to serve only international charter operations and had outdated standards. CMH was planning to introduce regular commercial international service in the future, which would require increased FIS and queuing capacity. The study evaluated multiple options that varied in the extent of modifications to the existing FIS facility and the degree to which current CBP standards could be achieved.

Concourse A Outbound BHS Study
A comprehensive study was completed to evaluate and improve the outbound baggage handling system serving Southwest Airlines at Concourse A. Building on a previous study completed in 2020, the project explored opportunities to enhance BHS performance and efficiency.

Passenger Boarding Bridge (PBB) Replacement Study
Four existing boarding bridges at CMH Concourse B were at end of life, with equipment that was no longer manufactured or supported. The design study evaluated the four existing gates and potential bridge layouts.

Ticket Counter Upgrade Study
DWL developed a 2,500 SF reconfiguration of existing ticket counter operations to provide additional ticket counter positions near existing bag belts and vacant office space while minimizing impacts to adjacent airline operations.
