Burton Barr Central Library

The LEED® Silver certified Burton Barr Central Library provides 280,000 SF of flexible, community-focused space in the heart of Phoenix. The five-story library includes a children’s area, Special Needs Center, Career Center, meeting rooms and an auditorium. Each floor is organized around distinct collections and services, including audio-visual resources, international materials, fiction, nonfiction and a rare book room. Innovative design features include custom shade sails along the north façade and a five-story atrium with skylights designed to track the sun’s movement while providing optimal daylighting throughout the building.
