Phoenix Sky Harbor Int'l Airport – Explosive Detection System

DWL was responsible for the building design of EDS (Explosive Detection System) support facilities and baggage conveyance system coordination, which screens all outgoing passenger luggage. The project began with an initial planning phase in 2001 and includes work in nine locations throughout the airport on both the landside and high‑security airside areas. Most of the locations were interwoven into the existing infrastructure of the terminals. Space was at a premium, which required ‘outside the box’ thinking. Years of coordination with the TSA and the airport staff resulted in extremely successful systems
