QUANTUM SURGICAL CENTER
This Ambulatory Surgery Center houses a surgical suite with two state-of-the-art operating rooms with state-of-the-art medical equipment and HVAC systems to support neurological, spinal and orthopedic outpatient surgeries. The natural light and warm finishes in the patient care areas reduce stress for patients during their prep and recovery.
INSPIRED DESIGN:
Inspired by our client’s notions of timelessness and material honesty, the Quantum Surgical Center is a modern building supported by classical bricks. A material as persistent through time and ubiquitous as fired clay is more often applied merely as a veneer in modern construction. Our team understood to aspire for architectural integrity and permanence meant the structural integration of this earthen material—in this way, our client’s building does what many others only pretend to do.
THOUGHTFUL STEWARDSHIP:
Empathy, curiosity and a vicarious passion for our client’s interests led to an operational flow within the Quantum Surgical Center that is both simple and efficient. The pre-operation to post-operation cycle is distilled to a concise loop within the floor plan, serving as an armature for the public, support and utility functions.
CREATIVE TEAMWORK:
Notoriously technical to coordinate, the surgical operating rooms served as an opportunity for our team to collaborate in a way that engaged every member, including our client. All disciplines coalesce here, which meant early and rigorous discussion was paramount. Because of this foresight, and the inclusion established early on, our team was able to integrate modern operating room lighting and airflow technologies.
ENDURING COMMITMENT:
Dedicated to the success of our client and this project, we remain consistently attentive and responsive. Through several licensing and jurisdictional reviews, we maintained this dedication and will continue to do so post-occupancy.
