The building is oriented to take advantage of passive solar strategies, while maintaining views of the surrounding mountains. The exterior building volumes echo the interior function of each space, with the largest volume facing a vehicular corridor and the smallest volume facing the park welcoming visitors.
THOUGHTFUL STEWARDSHIP:
The Center was designed by the people for the people. An exhaustive public outreach program was conducting to determine the amenities and functions which were captured in the final design.
CREATIVE TEAMWORK:
Architects, landscape architects, playground designers, public artists, aquatics experts and civil engineers all worked in concert to create a truly integrated Recreation Campus, with design schemes and ideas tied into each element of the project’s final design.
ENDURING COMMITMENT:
This project was the first of its kind in the City of Goodyear, and is a constant source of pride for residents and City employees alike. The excitement and impact on the community drove us to create a building to exceed the already lofty expectations.
