It is with great sadness that we share the loss of one of DWL’s original partners, James F. Lindlan. Jim joined Weaver and Drover in 1961 and later became Principal and Partner alongside Wallace Welch and Richard Drover to form Drover Welch and Lindlan Architects, today known as DWL Architects + Planners, Inc.
Jim was a preeminent healthcare facilities designer and was responsible for notable Valley projects such as: Sacaton Hospital, Maryvale Samaritan Hospital, Phoenix General Hospital, Valley Lutheran Hospital, Desert Samaritan Hospital, Mesa General Hospital, Palo Verde Medical Center, and Radiation Oncology at Good Samaritan Hospital; which at the time was the first facility of its kind.
On February 29, 2016 (five days after Jim’s Passing), Marilyn, his loving wife of 65 years, died of a broken heart. A joint service will be held on Thursday, March 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, followed by a celebration of life from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at La Siena, 909 E. Northern Ave. in Phoenix. Donations may be made in Jim and Marilyn’s memory to Hospice of the Valley. www.hov.org/donate-now
