For the new Central Phoenix/East Valley Light Rail Transit System, DWL completed design and
quality control for 13 platforms in seven stations dispersed along the light rail route through the Midtown Arts District and into the downtown Phoenix Central Business District. Architects were given a “tool kit” of components common to all light rail stations, including shade canopies and louvers, and Biomass panels to provide relief from the heat. Additionally, each station incorporates work by local artists. The DWL design team used these components to create distinct platforms within the context of each surrounding neighborhood.
