This project is a 450-space facility located on 5.8 acres south of the Scottsdale Airport. Because of its proximity to the airport, design considerations must take into account FAA exceptions for this project, particularly restrictions within the Runway Protection Zone. Other unique considerations include the integration of an existing City maintenance facility, which will remain on the site, and the relocation of a City-owned public artwork titled 'One with the Eagle,' a Scottsdale Road landmark, to a prominent spot adjacent to the park and ride.

The facility includes four bus bays, 421 parking spaces, of which 168 (40%) will be covered, and an approximately 580 SF security building consisting of an ADA-compliant restroom for bus driver use, janitorial room and electrical/communication room. Among the sustainable features of this park and ride are conduits for future solar photovoltaic panels and the use of alternative paving materials. The estimated construction start date for the project is September 2011, and a completion date of July, 2012.
