As an Architect and LEED Accredited Professional, Michael’s dedication to sustainable practices has taken him as far as Curitiba, Brasil, one of the world’s most sustainable cities. In addition to his focus on daylighting and passive solar design, his specialties include regional design and the integration of innovative materials. His design for the environmentally-responsible City of Glendale Park + Ride earned a Valley Forward Environmental Excellence Award in 2008. The City of Glendale’s Fire Station No. 151, a project that replaced the city’s first fire station in historic downtown Glendale, won the 2010 Brick in Architecture Gold Award from the Brick Industry Association and is a finalist for this year’s Valley Forward Environmental Excellence Award. Michael is currently involved in projects at Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport, including the new terminal building and a development plan for the airport’s future growth, in addition to the City of Scottsdale’s newest park and ride facility located near Scottsdale Airport.
