Midwestern University Optometry Clinic – Glendale, Arizona
Midwestern University’s new Arizona College of Optometry will be the only optometry program in the state of Arizona, and only one of 19 in the country. DWL worked with the University to design their new Optometry Clinic, which is currently under construction and scheduled to be completed in January 2010. It is part of a three-building medical office complex. The first building, the Medical Clinic, opened in the fall of 2007. A Dental Clinic is also under construction and will open in conjunction with the Optometry facility.

The two-story, 33,275 s.f. state-of-the-art Optometry Clinic will complement the University’s hands-on medical training program, and will allow students and medical staff to continue developing a community-based practice that provides necessary care for underserved populations. The facility includes the following areas: 72 Exam Rooms, including handicap-accessible rooms; Eyewear Center; Lens Lab; Contact Lens Area; Prosthetics; Special Testing; Sports Vision, including open panoramic speed training; Laser Center (Lasik); Vision Training for the visually impaired; Pediatric Exam/Playroom; Faculty Offices; Student/Faculty Break Rooms.
