University of Nevada Biotechnology Center - Las Vegas, Nevada
The University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) initiated the development of this Biotechnology Center to integrate with their existing Cancer Institute. The University has formed a partnership with the City of Las Vegas Metro Crime Lab to train people in forensic science, specifically in human DNA fingerprinting.

This facility is housed in an existing building renovated to support both the Cancer Institute and the Biotechnology Center, as well as ancillary laboratory and administrative space for the University’s new Dental School. The Biotechnology Center utilizes micro array hybridization and laser imaging equipment to analyze DNA. The project includes six modular labs for cancer research with adjacent equipment rooms, flow cytometry, incubator, prep and cold rooms, DNA sequencing and analysis labs, instructional labs, clean rooms, and informal interaction study areas. This project was built in collaboration with CSA Architects and Design for Science.
