Building Project over $5 million
seven-acre performing, visual arts and arts education campus is the largest such venue in the state of Arizona, and it embraces a wide variety of programs: four theaters ranging in size from 99 seats to 1,600; 14 visual and performing arts classrooms; and five art galleries constructed below ground. Each theater features superb acoustics and state-of-the-art theatrical systems that allow shows of every type to shine.
The Shadow Walk, a grand promenade that curves between the theater building and the education and contemporary arts buildings, incorporates landscaping, trellises and large tensile fabric canopies that soar above the site to create its shifting array of shadows. Water features, such as a 300-foot-long boulder-filled arroyo, celebrate the urban oasis theme.
This project was built in collaboration with BOORA Architects
