Built to be environmentally sound and aesthetically pleasing, this facility blends seamlessly into the surrounding neighborhood. It is designed in three segments, each segment approximately the size of an average house, broken up horizontally and vertically to respond to the scale of the nearby residences. This opens the building up to the public visually while maintaining the security required for a structure of this type. This project was built in collaboration with PSA-Dewberry.
This facility provides Police and Fire Department services to the City of Glendale’s western area. It houses four apparatus bays and living quarters for 12 Fire Department personnel, and features administrative/office space for a staff of 75. Police and Fire Department functions are separated by a shared main entrance, fitness room and meeting rooms. Additionally, the design can accommodate a future crime laboratory.
