Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport - On-Call Projects - Mesa, Arizona
Terminal Planning Study – The original Airport Master Plan identified the need for the development of an “East” Terminal, which would include a terminal facility northeast of the airfield. The Terminal Planning Study was initiated to determine the immediate construction needs and to set priorities necessary to address the functional restraints of the current “West” Terminal, Gateway’s current terminal site.

Terminal Annex – A 10,000 SF modular building designed and constructed within six months to meet the needs of a rapidly expanding airline. The Annex provides four gates, concessions and created an outdoor courtyard space for passengers.

Existing Terminal Remodel – The remodel relocated the hold room to the Annex building, while expanding ticketing, security screening checkpoint and its associated queue area.

South Area Planning – The focus of this planning effort was an approximately 32-33 square mile area, and how the property can best inter-relate with off-airport properties while maintaining large lots and taxiway usage.

Design Guidelines – DWL developed a document that articulates the comprehensive vision for the airport and provides clearly defined design criteria to be followed on all projects.
