Checkpoint B
Terminal 4, Checkpoint B added 19,550 s.f. of floor space to an existing passenger bridge at Terminal 4 increasing Security Checkpoint B from 4 to 6 lanes with the capability of future growth to 9 lanes. The addition is constructed of cast in place concrete columns, steel frame structure and a concrete on metal for floor. The project spans over Sky Harbor Boulevard and
the ticketing level roadway. The roadways configuration and existing overhead parking structure’s columns dictated column placement with a clear span of 74 feet. Furthermore, the structure was required to be placed between two existing bridges and the existing terminal which all are of different floor elevations. Interior finishes include tile floors, solid surface with
stainless steel wall paneling systems and decorative patterned laminate glass partitions.
Checkpoint C’s location is elevated over Sky Harbor Blvd., under the existing parking garage, adjacent to the existing terminal, surrounded by buildings on 3 sides. Checkpoint C is the last to be upgraded of the 4 main checkpoints in Terminal 4 located at the southeast corner of the building.
