Adam joined DWL in 2001 and has worked on numerous technically challenging projects, ranging from airport and hangar designs to award-winning libraries and performing arts centers. He excels at delving into highly complex projects and ‘untangling’ them so that the resulting design is clean, simple, attractive and highly functional. He applies the same creativity and imagination to technical challenges as he does to his architectural design work. Often with highly technical projects, such as airport security checkpoints or international customs facilities, the technical issues of infrastructure may overshadow equally important programmatic needs of the users. Among Adam’s many strengths is his ability to elicit the other needs of a project while remaining on schedule, on budget and while producing a project with high aesthetic qualities. Adam leads the firm’s ‘green’ initiative program for sustainable design and is currently overseeing construction of Maricopa County’s White Tank Branch Library, a project that is in the process of obtaining LEED Gold certification.
