Paving tribute to the project site's past, a rodeo arena, the design of the fire station evokes the simplicity and beauty found in vernacular Arizona ranch buildings. Features found in those ranch buildings, such as deeply overhung windows and a large shaded patio, were brought into the design of this station to create a shelter from the harsh desert environment.
